Laurie L. Young

My career began as a graphic designer and writer, working for small book publishers in Los Angeles and Orange County. I became a graphic designer
and an art director by combining refined aesthetic and technical skills to create beautiful, useful things across a range of formats and platforms.

When I’m not obsessing over design, I write novels for kids 8-12, and picture books for all ages. I volunteer with Reading to Kids and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

I am a karaoke queen and a bad ukulele player.
I am a book hoarder.
I have over 100 pairs of shoes.
I live for new seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
I love creating things that delight, entertain, and occasionally, astound.
